Technology Architecture

The FISHER Platform’s architecture is unique and highly specialised for massive scale while maintaining data isolation, all built from the ground up with security and privacy of data in mind.

  • Hosted securely on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, which is PCI (DSS) Level 1 and HIPAA compliant.

  • Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL Data Warehouse - provides the ability to scale, process and query large volumes of accident data before passing to our consumption layer to power intelligent information using PowerBI.

  • We have deployed custom mobile apps (iOS/ Android) and a secure reporting form for submissions. Using native features like the mobile’s camera, GPS and voice recording abilities.

Data Security & Privacy Considerations

  • FISHER employs TLS 1.2/SSL to encrypt network traffic data in transit and is always accessed over HTTPS 100% of the time for all users.

  • Data is stored in transit and at rest. We use AES 256 bit encryption to secure database credentials, file uploads, and cached query results at rest.

  • We aim to be ephemeral by nature, and any data uploaded or cached is encrypted at rest.

  • Access to our FISHER environment is limited to selected staff, requiring two-factor authentication to deploy updates or access a secure system for troubleshooting.

  • Production access credentials are stored in an Azure credential store and are not stored within our own development environment.

  • Analysis is done with live queries against the FISHER database. We share securely without ever giving access to underlying data. We minimise data movement and restrict data access on a need-to-know basis.

FISHER Project have developed a Mobile Reporting App to make submitting Fishing Accidents as seamless and as straightforward as possible using pre-populated fields and mobile capabilities.

Simply download our official Reporting App from your chosen store.

  • Take Photos using your Smartphone's Camera.

  • Or simply, send a Voice Recording, if you prefer.

  • All submissions are submitted with the same strong encryption protocols to our online and paper-based reporting database found on our website.
